A touch of the Middle Ages in Ybytyruzú Just a stone's throw from our hotel, Castillo Echauri majestically thrones on the hilltop in Vista Alegre. This architectural jewel was built in the style of a medieval castle and is unique in the Guairá region. The massive stone walls, the towers, and the charming details transport you to another time. But the real highlight is the view: from the castle's terraces, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view over the wide plain and the green mountain ranges of the Ybytyruzú Mountains. Especially at sunset ("Golden Hour"), this is one of the most romantic and photogenic places in all of Paraguay.
Difficulty & Accessibility
Difficulty (on foot): Easy. Once you're at the top, exploring the castle is a relaxed stroll. There are stairs to reach the viewing platforms, but no strenuous hikes.
Approach/Access: The path up to the castle is steep and partly stony.
Option A (Car): Easily manageable with a robust vehicle (SUV/4x4 recommended).
Option B (Hike): For sporty guests, the ascent from our hotel is a challenging but rewarding workout.
